Why did you choose George Mason University and your major or area of study?
George Mason is a great school, and I like that it is close to Washington, D.C., so that I can look for internships in the area. I have always been interested in becoming a lawyer because I enjoy doing research and trying to prove my point with the research I found.
Are there faculty or staff members who have made a difference thus far during your George Mason career?
Prof Wendi Manuel Scott has made quite the impact on my college experience. I recently took her INTS 438, and I am now taking her INTS 437, which is critical race theory. She allowed me and my peers to have honest and open discussions, and I have been able to take these skills into other classes.
How do you hope to use your degree and studies in the future?
I plan on going to law school after getting my degree, and I wish to become a trial attorney, although I haven't decided on a specialization.
How will the Dean’s Challenge scholarship support your studies?
When I received the Dean's Challenge scholarship, I was elated. This scholarship has helped me with my self confidence and helped me realize that I am intelligent, even when I get down on myself during class. With this recognition, I hope I will continue to be able to demonstrate my knowledge throughout my course work.
