This degree meets the Virginia Department of Education endorsement requirements and will prepare students for graduate licensure programs.  Students should meet with Mason's endorsement specialist throughout their undergraduate degree as well as integrative studies academic advisors.

Qualified students in the social science for education concentration have the opportunity to apply for the Bachelor’s/Accelerated Master’s program and obtain both a BA in integrative studies with a concentration in social science for education and an MEd in curriculum and instruction with a concentration in secondary education history and social science within an accelerated time frame.


All students have opportunities to

  • conduct independent research
  • engage in globally-related activities through coursework and language study at Mason and abroad
  • participate in many forms of public service
  • prepare for their future careers through internships, career-focused minors and other college-to-career activities
