Online Degree Completion

Undergraduate

Bachelor of Individualized Study (BIS) | (On-Campus option, Online option)

For some students it is possible to complete your Bachelor of Individualized Study degree completely online depending on your program of study. The online experience maintains the same quality of coursework and instruction available in person at George Mason University. Our courses have been developed by experienced faculty members. Students are afforded the same access to instructors and academic advising as in-person students, through virtual meetings.

While all students at Mason are able to take online courses, students can register at the time of admission to be considered students in Mason Online only, meaning they will complete all of their coursework online. This program is great for students who require additional flexibility in their undergraduate degree, and for students who wish to attend Mason from anywhere in the world.

BA in Human Development and Family Science (HDFS)

For some students it is possible to complete your BA in Human Development and Family Science degree completely online. The online experience maintains the same quality of coursework and instruction available in person at George Mason University. Our courses have been developed by experienced faculty members. Students are afforded the same access to instructors and academic advising as in-person students, through virtual meetings.

Integrative Studies (INTS) & Environmental and Sustainability Studies (EVSS)

While these degree programs cannot be completed 100% online, the School of Integrative Studies as well as the university as a whole, offers a variety of online, hybrid and face-to-face courses each semester. 

Graduate

Graduate Certificate in College Teaching (Offered by HEP - Higher Education Program) (On-Campus option, Online option)

This certificate is for graduate students planning a career in post-secondary education. It offers courses that develop pedagogical skills, explore pedagogical assessment or scholarship, and enhance the use of technology in instruction.

Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Administration (On-Campus option, Online option) 

This certificate is for students who are planning or enhancing a career in administrative positions in higher education. The certificate provides core knowledge of administrative processes in the context of higher education institutions.

MA in Higher Education and Student Development (On-Campus option, Online option) 

The interdisciplinary, graduate-level curriculum focuses on leadership, the scholarship of teaching and learning, administration, and assessment. 

Higher Education Pedagogy concentration in the Graduate Certificate in College Teaching (Offered by HEP - Higher Education Program) (On-Campus option, Online option)
