New Century College welcomes all incoming students as summer orientation brings new faces, new ideas and new Patriots to campus. Between June 17 and July 29 more than 5,700 undergraduates and their families will visit campus, check in with academic advisors and snap a shot with George Mason. Many people assume that campus slows down during the summer months, but we know the truth: campus is humming with excitement and energy.

In this month's newsletter, NCC's advising staff is recognized for pursuing additional training through Mason's professional development series.  Last summer, the team advised 124 incoming freshman, 73 transfer students and 117 Cornerstones students. With a comparable number of students this year, the NCC advisors will be quite busy.

Also this month, we showcase the work of NCC faculty member Patty Mathison, Associate Director of Social Action and Integrative Learning (SAIL). Patty, along with sophomore Jimmy Green will coordinate DC Sneak Peak, an extended orientation experience for incoming freshmen.

Much is happening during these not-so-lazy-days of summer. We welcome you to read on and keep in touch.
