Mariah Wakefield is a current PhD student in Cultural Studies at George Mason University. She received her Bachelor of Arts from New York University and her Masters from the University of London. Before pursuing her PhD at George Mason, Mariah worked primarily in arts administration and outreach, holding positions at Shakespeare's Globe Theatre and The Metropolitan Opera Guild.
Her current research focuses on neoliberalism and neoliberal subjectivity, mass culture, cultural psychology, and the construction of narratives of identity.
