Jennifer Lynn Lebron

Jennifer Lebrón is a PhD candidate in the Higher Education Program at George Mason University and currently serves as a graduate teaching assistant in the School of Integrative Studies.  Her research interests focus on international and comparative higher education, faculty preparation and development including doctoral student socialization, and the role of personal agency in the internationalization of higher education.  Her dissertation research focuses on the internationalization of higher education in Pakistan and how Pakistani faculty use their agency to make meaningful professional decisions in internationalizing contexts.   Prior to pursuing doctoral studies, Jennifer had a career in academic administration within higher education, including coordinating undergraduate and graduate education programs, creating and supporting study abroad activities, and leading international teacher education programs. In addition, Jennifer has worked as an independent consultant producing policy-relevant research for the U.S. Agency for International Development and the National Academies of Sciences and presented to numerous organization on national and international education issues.  She holds two degrees from the University of Maryland, College Park: a Bachelor of Arts degree in government & politics and history as well as a Master of Public Policy degree specializing in international and social policy.
