Janet Ha Poirot is a Term Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Academic Services in BIS. She received her Bachelors degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and MFA in Creative Writing at George Mason University.  She has taught and developed the online curriculum for BIS 300 - Understanding Interdisciplinary Studies and BIS 390 - The Research Process.  Both courses develop a student's academic writing and research skills to complete a research project.  She has also developed and taught BIS 301 - Adult Learner Transition which helps adult learners develop skills and plans to overcome challenges of completing a bachelor's degree as an adult.  Her academic interests lie in classical literature, creative writing and adult student curriculum.
