Janet Ha Poirot is an Assistant Professor and Associate Director of Academic Services in BIS. She received her Bachelors degree from Carnegie Mellon University and MFA in Creative Writing at George Mason University.  She has taught and developed the online curriculum for BIS 300 - Understanding Interdisciplinary Studies and BIS 390 - The Research Process.  Both courses develop a student's academic writing and research skills to complete a research project.  She has also created the curriculum for BIS 301 - Adult Learner Transition and taught the course which helps adult learners develop skills and plans to overcome challenges of completing a bachelor's degree as an adult.  And she has taught BIS 490 - Research/Scholarship Intensive: Senior Capstone Project.   Her academic interests lie in classical literature, creative writing and adult student curriculum.
