Do you have a particular standout course or professor from your time as an undergraduate student?

One of my favorite classes I took during my time at George Mason is defintely a tie between my Environmental justice class taught by Professor Michael Gilmore and my Food systems class taught by Kerri LaCharite.

What activities were you involved in during your time at Mason that impacted you the most?

The most impactful time I’ve spent while attending Mason would be my employment at Future Acres Urban Farming. My time spent working at farmers market and composting stands with the company really helped me understand how important the local food system is to small communties both close and far away. I really want to get involved with my own food system wherever I end up at after my time here, and helping out Dave (the owner) definitely cemented that.

Share a memorable "Mason moment."

The times I’ll remember the most are the moments I’ve spent with my dear friends I’ve made on campus.

Reflecting on your time at Mason, what is one piece of advice you would give a student who is just starting off on their Mason journey?

Never be afraid to approach your professors to ask for help when you need it. Almost all of my professors have been extremely kind and accommodating when I needed it the most. Make life easier and just let them know when you need a little extra time to get things done.

What is your next step?

I am actively applying for jobs right now and I am excited to see where I end up next. One goal I have is to operate my own urban farm someday.
