Degree: MA in Higher Education and Student Development

Tyler has been part of the George Mason community as both a student and an employee for more than four years and looks forward to continuing his work as part of the community for many years to come.

George Mason has been my home as both a student and employee for more than four years. Our community is so supportive and always strives to lift everyone up.

I studied higher education to gain a more holistic understanding of the field and learn from my peers. The most impactful class for me was "Higher Education in the Digital Age." At a time where our field is rapidly adjusting to new technologies, this class provided an excellent opportunity to familiarize myself with tools like artificial intelligence.

My capstone gave me an excellent opportunity to reflect on what I've learned in the program, but also how I will continue to develop moving forward. I look forward to focusing on my professional development and taking on more responsibilities.

Favorite George Mason memory: My favorite memory is having the opportunity to co-author a paper with a faculty member. It was an amazing opportunity that challenged me and made me grow as an academic.

Advice for future George Mason graduate students: Take every opportunity you can to work with different people and learn from them. We never stop learning and you never know what someone can teach you.
