Registration Priority Dates for the Summer semester: 

  • March 18th - Grad Students & Seniors
  • March 20th - Juniors
  • March 24th - Sophomores & Non-Degree ADVANCE students
  • March 26th - Freshmen
  • March 28th - Non-Degree students

LAST DAY of the Selective Withdrawal period: 03/31 - Undergraduate Students only (100% Tuition Liability)

Scholarship Opportunities

Bachelor of Individualized Study Endowed Scholarship 

(Open to BIS students only - $2000 total, $1,000 awarded each Fall & Spring to the chosen recipient)

The Bachelor of Individualized Study Endowed Scholarship is open to George Mason University students who have declared a major in the Bachelor of Individualized Study (BIS) Program.

Jon Sultan Writing Award 

($1000 - Open to INTS, EVSS and HDFS Freshmen only)

This award is open to all freshman students who have declared an Integrative Studies, Human Development and Family Science or Environmental and Sustainability Studies majors. Mr. Steven A. Sultan and Mrs. Susan E. Sultan established the Jon Sultan Writing Award in memory of their son, Jon, who was a valuable member of the first Integrative Studies cohort in 1995. The Sultan Award winner receives $1,000. Students must apply and submit writing sample materials in order to be considered.

Suzanne Scott Constantine Award for Excellence 

This scholarship opportunity is open to Women & Gender Studies - LGBTQ+ Studies - Social Justice & Human Rights - undergrad majors, minors and grad certificate students. Scholarship for WGST and SJHR students who work in Gender, Race, and Social Justice intersects with Visual & Performing Arts.

“Occupying All Sides of the Desk: A Feminist Methodological Approach to Teaching, Research, and Mentoring” has been accepted in the Journal of Feminist Scholarship. This piece focuses on Dr. David Powers Corwin’s research collaboration with Lindsay Lowry, (an INTS student with a WGST concentration alum), Angelica Lovelace (an INTS with a Social Sciences for Education alum and former WGST center mentor), and Siri Lalukota (an Oakton High School alumn and now UCLA student).

Dr. Al Fuertes, professor at SIS just returned from Rwanda facilitating a week-long psychosocial trauma healing session and workshop in Rwanda with participants coming from the DRC, Rwanda, South Sudan, Nigeria, Cameroon, Sweden, and Japan.
