Moraga, one of the most influential figures in Chicana/o, feminist, queer and indigenous studies, considers the first decade of the 21st century in the essays and poems of A Xicana Codex of Changing Consciousness, reflecting on 9/11, the election of Barack Obama, urban violence among young men of color, and other aspects of society, economics and culture. The collection’s illustrator, Rodriguez, also joins the discussion. Sponsored by Mason’s Women and Gender Studies Program.
