Join University Career Services for a series of in-person and virtual events to learn more about topics like government-related internships, creating a federal resume, intelligence careers, and more! Exploring Government Careers

Any George Mason degree can lead to a successful and rewarding career in public service. Learn how to identify career options in government based on your education, interests, and skills. This session covers resources for job seekers, including types of roles available, job locations, position requirements, salary expectations, and career paths specific to your skill set.

Government Internships Panel

Learn from George Mason students who are current or former interns about finding and succeeding in various government agencies, offices and districts. Learn about application strategies, workplace expectations, and ways to build relevant experience while you are still a student.

Federal Resume Workshop

Are you applying for jobs within the federal government? The requirements of federal resumes have changed significantly in the past year. Join us to learn from experts about how to build your federal-style resume and best showcase your knowledge, skills and abilities when applying for government job postings.  

Careers on Capitol Hill

Discover career opportunities on Capitol Hill and hear from professionals working in legislative roles in the House and Senate. Learn about pathways into congressional offices, legislative committees, and entry-level opportunities in government affairs.

Careers in Intelligence

Thursday, September 17

The Intelligence Community works on issues of national security and foreign policy. Learn from representatives from agencies about their hiring needs, how you can prepare, and tips for being successful in the application process for federal agencies like the CIA, FBI, the Secret Service, DIA, NSA, NGA, NRO, and more. This event is presented in collaboration with the Clearance Ready Program.
