Julie Owen Receives Research Award and Competitive Grant

New Century College faculty member Julie Owen will receive the Dr. Susan R. Komives Research Award through the NASPA Student Leadership Programs Knowledge Community to be presented at the 2016 NASPA Annual Conference in Indianapolis. Nominees remarked at the depth and quality of her impact and contributions to the knowledge base of leadership education within the field of Higher Education.

Dr. Owen also received a competitive research grant for 2015-2017 from the Bringing Theory to Practice (BTtoP) Project of the Association of American Colleges & Universities (AAC&U) entitled Thriving Together: Leveraging Well-Being and Civic Engagement as Pathways to Flourishing for First-Generation College Students. Matching funds were provided by George Mason University's Center for the Advancement of Well-Being under the leadership of Dr. Nance Lucas.
