NCC Sponsors Three Fall for the Book Festival Events

New Century College (NCC) brings three authors to Mason's campus in conjunction with the Fall for the Book Festival, taking place September 22-27, 2013. 

Zainab Salbi is a graduate of Mason. NCLC 101 Cornerstones students will study her book If You Knew Me You Would Care, as well as excerpts from Michael O'Brien's book, We Shall Not Be Moved. The Center for Consciousness and Transformation Living and Learning Community students will read Shane Lopez's book, Making Hope Happen, based on a study indicating that hope is not just an emotion, but an essential life tool.

Faculty, staff, students, and friends of NCC are welcome to attend these free events, which includes a reception prior to the Shane Lopez presentation. See event details below:

Using a blend of interviews and photographs, the world-renowned activist’s If You Knew Me You Would Care tells the powerful stories of women who have survived wars, violence, and poverty. Photographs by Salbi’s collaborator on the book, photographer Rennio Maifredi, are on display in the Concert Hall Lobby throughout the festival. Part of Mason’s Freedom and Learning Lecture Series.
