Featured Course - Artworks: Reused, Recycled, Reclaimed Offered August 19-23

Artworks: Reused, Recycled, Reclaimed is a one-credit experiential learning course where students create socially engaged art projects from the scraps of everyday life – junk mail, torn or worn-out clothing, circulars, old books, plastic bags, pieces of fabric, found objects, etc. No art experience necessary – only a passion for social justice and a desire to learn some easy art techniques. This intensive week-long course will include a day at the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore. We will spend the rest of our time using our radical imaginations to transform everyday scraps into art that addresses a social justice issue.

This course meets the week before classes start: August 19-23 from 10:00 am – 5:00 pm.
