Eight NCC Students Receive Phi Beta Kappa Invitations

The Phi Beta Kappa Society is the nation's oldest academic honor society, dating back over two centuries.  Phi Beta Kappa was founded by five students at the College of William and Mary in 1776 on the principles of freedom of inquiry and liberty of thought and expression.  Mason was awarded a chapter in August 2012 and joined the ranks of only 10% of American colleges with Phi Beta Kappa chapters.  On April 17th, George Mason University inducted its first members into the Mason chapter of the Phi Beta Kappa Honor Society.
