Environmental Studies on the Piedmont is a private research, education and conservation organization headquartered on a 914 acre field station, just north of Warrenton, Virginia, in the Northern Piedmont. With upland forest, meadow, wetland, vernal pool, stream, pond and small lake habitats, the Environmental Studies on the Piedmont (ES) field station is a rich resource for indigenous plant and wildlife studies.
The facility is associated with George Mason University, and the New Century College Cornerstones (freshman level) program and upper division courses often include visits to this site.
