School of Integrative Studies (SIS) Professor Dr. Al Fuertes during the truth-telling session with the Philippine Truth Commission on Oct. 9 in Manila. Part of Dr. Fuertes' core responsibilities as a commissioner includes psychosocial intervention, community-based trauma healing, and providing a safe space for victims, survivors, and witnesses, including state actors of the drug war by the previous administration of former President Duterte, to share their narratives. The Philippine Truth Commission is a 100% independent and civilian-led commission that aims to build an evidence-based public record, foster national healing, and offer recommendations in response to the extrajudicial killings under the Duterte administration.
