Integrative Studies student, Makayla Vaughan, is CHSS Senior of the Year!

The College of Humanities and Social Science has named Integrative Studies major, Makayla Vaughan, as the 2022 Senior of the Year!

The award recognizes past academic achievements as well as the colleges confidence in continued success beyond time spent at Mason. There is a $1,000 scholarship that will be presented to Makayla. 

In her time at Mason, Makayla has remained on the Dean's list since 2020 and served in various rolls around campus to include the following:

 

 

  • Learning Community Resident Assistant (Leadership Through Community Engagement LC)
  • STEP University Studies Peer Advisor
  • President Student Advisory Group Member(2021-2022) 
  • Patriot Leader 
  • Mason Ambassador
  • Clubs involvement 
    • NAACP
    • Pride Alliance
    • Black Student Alliance

She has provided services to the College, University and Community in the following areas as well. 

  • Transfer Student Resource Panelist 
  • Panelist at 2021 Leadership Mason Conference
  • Seeds of Change Community Engagement Award Committee Member
  • 9/11 Day of Service Volunteer since Fall 2020

We will Makayla all the best as she continues her studies here in the School of Integrative Studies.
