Youth and Family Studies, School Psychology
Tamera Toney is a recent graduate of George Mason University. She earned her BS in Psychology with a double concentration in Educational and Clinical Psychology. During her undergraduate career, she served in leadership positions pertaining to ministry and mentorship. She also interned for Hayfield Secondary School’s violence prevention program and in local government designing a curriculum for Generational Changers youth program, updating Norfolk’s Department of Neighborhood Development grant research guide, and planning a city-wide anti-gun violence basketball tournament. She is passionate about improving the lives of young people, families, communities, and school systems. She is currently pursing her MA in Psychology with a concentration in School Psychology and certification, while continuing to assist her mentor in research about the development of young children. She aspires to use her credentials and experiences to practice as school psychologist in an urban school district.
