Garrett joined the School of Integrative Studies in August of 2018 as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and academic advisor. While he is new to the advising team, he spent four years involved with SIS where he graduated with a Bachelor’s of Arts in Environmental and Sustainability Studies. A current graduate student in the Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies program with a concentration in Social Justice and Human Rights, Garrett’s primary interests include: environmental justice, indigenous peoples’ rights, and the creation of equitable access to well-being resources in marginalized communities. His research of and passion for these topics is centered in Peru. When not working or studying, Garrett can be found running on local nature trails, backpacking in Shenandoah National Park, playing the piano, or curled up with a good book. He is excited to help students channel their passions into their undergraduate degrees.
