Now in its 18th year, Oxfam’s competitive, yearlong leadership and organizing program—the CHANGE Initiative—has been training students nationwide to become CHANGE Leaders, actively engaged with Oxfam’s work, locally and globally. As Oxfam college ambassadors, determined CHANGE Leaders have the opportunity to collaborate with others to lead locally while influencing global changes—taking action on Oxfam related campaigns that work to end the injustice of poverty through addressing issues of inequality, discrimination, and unequal access to necessary resources like food, water and land. Throughout the year, CHANGE Leaders receive resources, materials and support from Oxfam staff; they are also connected to student leaders across the US and beyond who are making a difference. Through equipping influential student leaders with the skills and hands-on experience in leadership, organizing and advocacy, the CHANGE Initiative continues to prepare students to go on to do great things, like work for members of Congress or start non-profit organizations.
Learn more about CHANGE here. If you know a student with a commitment to social justice and the desire to learn how we can harness the power of people to end poverty, please pass along this email and encourage them to apply!
