New Transfer Pre-Orientation Advising

Welcome to Mason and to the School of Integrative Studies! We have three degree options in our school: Integrative Studies, Environmental Sustainability Studies, and Individualized Studies (for adult learners).

Individualized Studies (adult learners) can make an advising appointment by emailing an advisor at

For Integrative Studies and Environmental Sustainability Studies students, please follow the steps below to make an Advising Appointment prior to Orientation.

1. In order to have a detailed conversation about your individual transfer information, you will either need to have a transcript in the Mason system, or review your courses for Mason equivalency and bring a list with you to your pre-orientation advising meeting. If your transcript is in the system, skip to Step 2 below. If not, please review the courses you are transferring in (that received a grade of C or better) and make a list of Mason equivalents from the Transfer Credit Matrix. If you do not bring this list with you to advising, we will not be able to discuss your remaining degree requirements or graduation timeline.

2. Please bring your Mason equivalent transfer course list with you to your advising appointment. Please write down any questions you have and bring those as well.

3. Make an appointment: If you have a Mason G# (G01234567), please go here and select “School of Integrative Studies” for school and location. Then select your major either of Integrative Studies or Environmental Sustainability Studies. (If you need more help making an appointment, step-by-step instructions are available here.)

If you do not have a Mason G#, please call our front desk to make an  appointment: 703-993-1436.
