Pre-Orientation Advising
Please find your major below and follow the instructions to schedule a pre-orientation advising appointment.
Please follow the steps below to make an Advising Appointment prior to Orientation.
1. Check to see if your credits have transferred by checking your Unofficial Transcript through Patriot Web--> Student Services --> Student Records --> View Your Unofficial Transcript (select the current semester) --> Display Mason Transcript.
If you do not see that courses have been evaluated yet, review your transferring courses in which you received a grade of C or better and make a list of Mason equivalents using the Transfer Credit Matrix. If you do not bring this list with you to advising, we will not be able to discuss your remaining degree requirements or graduation timeline.
Please also review your record in Degree Works:
- Log in to Patriot Web
- Select the “Student Services” tab
- Select “Student Profile”
- Select “Degree Works”
Your advisor will be using this system during the appointment.
2. This degree program requires intermediate foreign language proficiency, so your advisor will ask you if you already speak any foreign language (including ASL) or have taken a foreign language in high school.
3. To schedule a 30-60 minute pre-orientation advising appointment via Zoom please write to sspradli@gmu.edu with your Mason email address and three (3) time preferences between Monday – Friday from 10:30 am – 4 pm. We will schedule you for the first available appointment within the availability you share. Be sure to include your full name and G number in the email.

- To login to the scheduling system (Navigate), use the netID and password you created when activating your patriot pass.
- If you have not activated your patriot pass yet click here and follow step 2.

3. To schedule a 60-minute pre-orientation advising appointment please call 703-993-1436 between Monday – Thursday from 9:00 am – 5 pm. If you leave a voicemail, be sure to include your full name, G#, and best telephone number to return your call to.
