INTS 595: Experiential Learning

INTS 595-001: Leadership and Mindfulness
(Fall 2014)

04:30 PM to 07:10 PM W

Section Information for Fall 2014

In this course we will explore models of leadership – both the traditional theories and practices, along with emergent models that explicitly incorporate certain human capacities such as intentionality, mindfulness, authenticity, transformation, and service.

We will also examine the concept of self-leadership and the way in which these various models can inform the way we govern our own lives and support ourselves. In this sense, the course will devote attention to leadership as a transformed “way of being” in the world.

The art and the science of mindfulness are also important topics for our consideration. We will explore the potentials for reflective practice and “cognitive fitness,” particularly in relationship to some of the central challenges in today’s world.
