INTS 475-009: Conflict Transformation from the Inside Out
(Spring 2015)

04:30 PM to 07:10 PM W

Section Information for Spring 2015

To be optimal facilitators of conflict transformation in the world around us, we need to be conscious of our own biases, worldview, and internal conflicts and to be actively engaged in transforming those elements.  We also need to be aware of the roles played by our own values, emotions, and states of consciousness in the peacemaking process.  This course will explore both conflict-transformation theories as well as methods of practice related to 1) understanding, reframing, and beginning to transform our own perspective on the world, 2) expanding our capacity for mindful presence, and 3) enhancing our ability to listen deeply.  As we do so, it can potentially make us more objective and effective practitioners of peacemaking.
