Section Information for Spring 2016

Every new revolutionary technological invention seems to bring with it a fear that the world will soon descend into hell. Illustrations of these technological dystopias are often more creative, fantastic, and awe-inspiring than those that depict a future world perfected by technology. But we also seem to be growing more accustomed and desensitized to the machinations that foretell our collective doom. Through a variety of texts this learning community will examine past representations of technological dystopia so that we can look at our present future with a renewed vision.
