Section Information for Fall 2013
This course provides natural and physical science content, laboratories and experiential learning for pre-service teachers interested in elevating their content knowledge. Approximately three weeks will be spent in each subject area (chemistry, physics, life and earth science). Connections within content areas and to connections to the VA SOLs will be continually illustrated. In addition to laboratory activities, experiential learning, lectures and discussions students will create a content learning portfolio to synthesize the material and reflect on the process of learning big ideas in science via inquiry. Early childhood & elementary education students will receive 4 credits of natural science toward their concentration requirements. ***Lab fee of $10 per student.NCLC 375 001 a modest course fee is required for this section.
