Section Information for Fall 2013
Students in this course engage in service work with a local nonprofit or social/environmental service agency. The class will meet every other week for critical reflection discussions about community engagement issues such as: the difference between addressing need and addressing root causes, how to influence real change, social justice, and the roles and responsibilities of being a member of a community. Students may choose their own service placement, assistance is provided to those who need it. Register for 1 credit for 45 hours of service over the semester. Register for 2 credits for 90 hours of service.Tags:
