  • NCLC 101 Narratives of Identity (6 credits). This course is only open to incoming freshmen invited to participate in Mason’s Cornerstones program.
  • NCLC 102 Global Networks & Communities (6 credits). This course is only open to incoming freshmen invited to participate in Mason’s Cornerstones program.
  • NCLC 204 Leadership Theory & Practice (3 credits). This course earns Learning Community credit only.
  • NCLC 210 Sustainable World (4 credits). This learning community contains 1 credit of Experiential Learning and fulfills 4 credits of the natural science endorsement requirement for Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education students.
  • NCLC 245 Visual Culture & Society (4 credits). This learning community contains 1 credit of Experiential Learning and fulfills the humanities endorsement requirement for Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education students.
  • NCLC 249 Digital Literacy (4 credits). This learning community contains 1 credit of Experiential Learning.
  • NCLC 275 Leadership for Sustainability (1 credit). This course is only open to students living in the Sustainability Living/Learning Community.
  • NCLC 295 Explorations of Mindful Living (1 credit). This course is only open to students living in the Mindful Living Living/Learning Community.
  • NCLC 295 Capitol & the Community (1 credit). This course is only open to students living in the New Century College Living/Learning Community.
  • NCLC 304 Social Movements & Community Activism (4 credits). This learning community contains 1 credit of Experiential Learning.
  • NCLC 312 Images & Experiences of Childhood (4 credits). This learning community contains 1 credit of Experiential Learning and fulfills the humanities endorsement requirement for Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education students.
  • NCLC 317 Issues in Family Relations (4 credits). This learning community contains 1 credit of Experiential Learning.
  • NCLC 322 Teacher: A Historical Perspective (3 credits). This course earns Learning Community credit only.

  • NCLC 345 Introduction to Multimedia (5 credits). This learning community contains 2 credits of Experiential Learning.
  • NCLC 348 Digital Futures (6 credits). This learning community contains 1 credit of Experiential Learning.  The course will meet in person and virtually.

  • NCLC 375 Understanding the Sciences (6 credits). This learning community contains 2 credits of Experiential Learning and fulfills 4 credits of the natural science endorsement requirement for Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education students.

  • NCLC 475 Human Trafficking & the Role of the International Community (3 credits). This course earns Learning Community credit only.
  • NCLC 475 Meditation & Mysteries of the Mind (3 credits). This course earns Learning Community credit only.
  • **CANCELED** NCLC 475 Critical Approaches to Children's Media (4 credits). This learning community contains 1 credit of Experiential Learning and counts as an elective for the Childhood Studies minor.
  • NCLC 475 Conservation Behavior (6 credits). This learning community contains 2 credits of Experiential Learning and fulfills 6 credits of the natural science endorsement requirement for Elementary Education and Early Childhood Education students.
  • NCLC 491 Senior Capstone (3 credits). This course fulfills the synthesis general education requirement and does not count toward the Learning Community degree requirement.  Students must have earned 85 credits to enroll in this class.
  • NCLC 492 Graduation Portfolio (0 credits). This is a zero credit enrollment that allows NCC to post your Graduation Portfolio final grade (S or NC).  There is no meeting pattern.
  • NCLC 494 Sharing Language Literacy (3 credits).  This course earns only Experiential Learning credit.
