Scholarship Program for SIS students who enroll in the Smithsonian-Mason School of Conservation

The School of Integrative Studies will provide scholarships for individual support, applicable to tuition, room and board, to support students in SMSC’s prestigious academic and field programs in conservation biology.  These pilot scholarship awards will be made to students enrolled in the Smithsonian-Mason Semester in fall 2017 or spring 2018. Scholarship support will be awarded to qualified students who aspire to work in applied conservation and resource management and who seek to expand their knowledge and academic preparation to meet the biodiversity conservation needs of today and tomorrow.

 

ELIGIBILITY

The Scholarship is limited to students who have already been accepted into the program, for the semester in which the scholarship would be awarded. Other eligibility requirements include:

  1. Majoring in Integrative Studies at George Mason University
  2. Submission of the required application and supporting materials
  3. Written acceptance of scholarship and enrollment deposit ($250) to be made within three business days of award notification.

 

Interested students should submit the application and associated material by June 1, 2017. Please visit Integrative.gmu.edu and look for the SMSC Scholarship Application to find the web version of our application.  You will receive an e-mail confirming your successful completion and submission of your application with all requested documents.

The scholarship awardee(s) for fall 2017 will be announced by May 19, 2017. All applicants will also be informed of their scholarship status by email.
